Substituting Counsel

If you are not happy with your current attorney, or frustrated with how your matter is being handled you have options.

Going through the divorce process can be very emotional and exasperating; and can take a year, or two, or sometimes longer to settle. The longer it takes, the more infuriating it seems, leaving many clients on an emotional rollercoaster.

There are four main parties that directly affect how your case plays out:

  • Our firm;
  • You as a client;
  • The opposing attorney; and
  • Your spouse.

If at any time either party’s attorney or your spouse is irrational or refuses to negotiate in good faith, it makes the process that much more difficult, time consuming and expensive.

At The Law Offices of Ian S. Mednick, P.C., we pride ourselves on actively litigating for the best outcome for our client. We will give you an honest assessment of your situation and explain how we can help you. Our office is responsive and we make all attempts to settle each case expeditiously.  A delay may arise in any case that is out of our control, but we try to mitigate such situations by being systematic in our negotiations.

It is not uncommon for an individual to want to change attorneys if they are unhappy with their current situation, or if they feel that their case has been unnecessarily dragged out. Our top-notch matrimonial and family law attorneys are well versed in the most complicated and complex matters and have settled numerous cases that were at a prior “stand-still”. We may not be the first attorney on the case, but we are almost always the settling attorney.
